5-Hit Day for Zamora as Hooks Skirt Past Elite | 3.7.21

Daniel Zamora didn't feel much like getting out on Sunday, tallying five hits and leading Hooks to a 28-4 win over Elite. Zamora singled in the second, singled in the fourth, doubled in the fifth, doubled in the sixth, and singled in the seventh.

Elite scored three runs in the sixth inning, but Hooks still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Elite came thanks to a walk by AJ and an error on a ball put in play by Trent Burgess.

Hooks got things started in the first inning when Matt Bailey drew a walk, scoring one run.

Hooks notched eight runs in the second inning. Dustin Thompson, Nate Imig, John Otterson, and Thompson each drove in runs during the inning.

Craig Molldrem was credited with the victory for Hooks. Molldrem lasted three innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out five and walking zero. Imig and Thompson entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Omar took the loss for Elite. undefined allowed 11 hits and 15 runs over one and one-third innings.

Hooks racked up 24 hits on the day. Zamora, Coleman Gamble, Thompson, Imig, Nick Zamora, Rodney McDaniel, and Otterson each managed multiple hits for Hooks. Zamora went 5-for-6 at the plate to lead Hooks in hits.
