Hooks watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 12-5 loss to Elite on Sunday. Elite scored on a single by Chris Duckworth in the first inning, a double by AJ Rios in the first inning, a single by Trent Burgess in the second inning, and a double by Deiondre Malcom in the second inning.

Hooks lost despite out-hitting Elite 16 to 11.

In the first inning, Elite got their offense started. Duckworth drove in one when Duckworth singled.

Hooks tallied three runs in the fifth inning. Hooks's big bats in the inning were led by singles by Andrew Lightfoot and John Otterson.

Elite scored six runs in the fourth inning. Elite's big inning was driven by walks by Rios and Dallas Guerrero, a single by Michael LaLonde, a fielder's choice by Eric Evans, and an error on a ball put in play by Jacob Salas.

Drake Thompson pitched Elite to victory. The fireballer lasted seven innings, allowing 16 hits and five runs while striking out four.

Dustin Thompson took the loss for Hooks. Thompson surrendered ten runs on seven hits over three innings, striking out three.

Hooks collected 16 hits. Thompson, Otterson, Nick Zamora, Steven Mock, Daniel Zamora, and Lightfoot all managed multiple hits for Hooks. Thompson led Hooks with three hits in four at bats.

Elite racked up 11 hits. Burgess, Salas, and Malcom all managed multiple hits for Elite. Burgess went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Elite in hits. Elite was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Thompson made the most plays with one.
