Hooks fought back after falling down by seven runs in the second inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 9-8 defeat to Bulldogs on Monday. Hooks scored six runs in the failed comeback on a groundout by Josh Hopkins in the fourth, a single by Andrew Lightfoot in the fourth, a error in the fourth, a single by Rodney McDaniel in the sixth, and a single by Jordan Stickler in the seventh.
Hooks couldn't keep up with Bulldogs early in the game. Bulldogs scored on a triple by Don in the first inning, a walk by Jackson in the first inning, a error in the second inning, a walk by Don in the second inning, and a home run by Bryce in the second inning.
Hooks notched three runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower by Hooks was led by Hopkins, Lightfoot, and Joseph Hernandez, all driving in runs in the inning.
Bulldogs scored five runs in the second inning. David Poe, Don, and Bryce each had RBIs in the frame.
Josh took the win for Bulldogs. undefined surrendered four runs on six hits over four innings, striking out three and walking one. Don threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Lightfoot took the loss for Hooks. The righty allowed two hits and eight runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two.
Hooks scattered ten hits in the game. Lightfoot, McDaniel, and Jason Garza each racked up multiple hits for Hooks. Garza, McDaniel, and Lightfoot each managed two hits to lead Hooks.
Bryce went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Bulldogs in hits.
