Two Hooks Pitchers Combine to Defeat Devil Rays in Shutout Game - 3.27.22

Hooks defeated Devil Rays 10-0 on Sunday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Daniel Zamora struck out Eskridge to finish off the game.


Hooks got things started in the first inning when Dominick Coro singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.


Hooks notched five runs in the seventh inning. The big inning was thanks to doubles by Coleman Gamble and Ethan Green and a single by Jason Garza.


A single by Sanchez Jr in the second inning was a positive for Devil Rays.


Billy Decker was credited with the victory for Hooks. The pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five. Zamora threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Zamora recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Hooks.


Roberts took the loss for Devil Rays. Roberts lasted one inning, allowing two hits and one run while walking zero.


Hooks collected eight hits on the day. Garza, Green, and Gamble each racked up multiple hits for Hooks. Gamble, Green, and Garza each collected two hits to lead Hooks. Hooks was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Gamble made the most plays with ten.


Dickerson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Devil Rays in hits.
