Hooks stayed in it until the end, but Stars pulled away late in a 9-5 victory on Sunday. The game was tied at four with Stars batting in the bottom of the fourth when Tim Wells homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring four runs.

Stars got on the board in the first inning. Wells singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

After Hooks scored one run in the top of the fifth, Stars answered with one of their own. Hooks scored when Coleman Gamble hit a solo homer. Stars then answered when R Cox singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Stars pulled away for good with six runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Cox singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run and D Friedman singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Hooks scored three runs in the third inning. Hooks scored its runs on an RBI home run by John Otterson.

Matt Bokenek earned the win for Stars. Bokenek lasted six innings, allowing five hits and five runs while striking out four.

Nick Zamora took the loss for Hooks. The pitcher allowed five hits and six runs over one inning, striking out one and walking zero.

Andrew Lightfoot started the game for Hooks. The righty allowed three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out six

Hooks smacked two home runs on the day. Otterson had a long ball in the third inning. Gamble had a homer in the fifth inning.

Zamora, Otterson, Gamble, Jordan Stickler, and Joseph Hernandez each managed one hit to lead Hooks.

Stars had ten hits in the game. Friedman, Wells, Bokenek, and Cox each collected multiple hits for Stars.
