Hooks ran off with the lead late in the game in a 2-1 victory over Devil Rays on Sunday. The game was tied at one with Hooks batting in the bottom of the fifth when Coleman Gamble singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Derek Kennell struck out 12, while Devil Rays pitchers sat down one.

Hooks evened things up at one in the bottom of the fourth inning. Hooks scored one run on a stolen base.

Kennell was credited with the victory for Hooks. The lefty went seven innings, allowing one run on one hit, striking out 12 and walking one.

K Smith took the loss for Devil Rays. The hurler lasted three and a third innings, allowing three hits and one run while walking one.

Gamble, Matt Bailey, Nick Zamora, Daniel Zamora, and Andrew Lightfoot all had one hit to lead Hooks.

G Juarez went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Devil Rays in hits.
