Hooks stole the lead late and defeated Red Sox 7-3 on Friday. In the top of the sixth Matt Bailey singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
Hooks got things moving in the first inning. Bailey drove in one when Bailey doubled.
In the top of the fourth inning, Hooks tied things up at three when Daniel Zamora doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Bailey was the winning pitcher for Hooks. Bailey lasted five innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out five. Derek Kennell and Zamora entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Zamora recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Hooks.
Nick took the loss for Red Sox. The hurler went six innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits and striking out one.
Hooks collected nine hits on the day. Bailey and Steven Mock all managed multiple hits for Hooks. Mock and Bailey each collected two hits to lead Hooks.
Rory led Red Sox with two hits in three at bats.
