Hooks defeated Devil Rays 6-1 thanks to a strong start. Hooks scored on a single by Josh Hopkins in the first inning and a single by Tanner Allred in the second inning.

Hooks pulled away for good with one run in the second inning. In the second Allred singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

Hooks put up three runs in the fifth inning. Hooks's big bats in the inning were led by a single by Matt Bailey, a fielder's choice by Ryan Snider, and an error on a ball put in play by Nick Zamora.

Allred was the winning pitcher for Hooks. The righty lasted seven innings, allowing seven hits and one run while striking out six and walking zero.

M Roberts took the loss for Devil Rays. The hurler surrendered five runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out three and walking one.

Allred led Hooks with two hits in two at bats.

J Sanchez went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Devil Rays in hits.
