Hooks grabbed an early lead on its way to a 6-3 victory over Stars on Sunday. Hooks scored on a groundout by Matt Bailey in the first inning, a double by Ryan Snider in the second inning, and a single by Jordan Stickler in the second inning.

Hooks earned the victory despite allowing Stars to score three runs in the second inning. Stars's big inning was driven by a single by R Cox and a double by B Russell.

Hooks pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Snider doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs and Stickler singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Derek Kennell earned the victory on the hill for Hooks. The southpaw lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out 11 and walking one.

M Bohenek took the loss for Stars. The pitcher went five innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and striking out five.

Hooks scattered nine hits in the game. Kennell, Rodney McDaniel, and Nick Zamora all had multiple hits for Hooks. Zamora, McDaniel, and Kennell each collected two hits to lead Hooks.

Z Wysoglad led Stars with two hits in three at bats.
